“LET’s JOIN HANDS To REDUCE GLOBAL WARMING”Global warming has become the hot topic of discussion with everyone but who will do the needful to reduce the Global Warming? It’s we- the people. A school child can contribute by switching off his game console when not in use, motivating friends to conserve energy and not wasting pencils and stationery unnecessarily. A youth can contribute by reducing his T.V. and computer hours, using bicycle to move in city, planting trees in the neighbourhood. A housewife can do yoeman’s job by using BEE mask electronic appliances, rational use of AC’s using solar cookers and water heaters.Officers and executives can help reduce CO2 emissions by turning their AC’s to comfort mode and replacing energy consuming lights with CFL’s and LED. They can pool their cars for office going. And they should ensure carbon emission from their vehicles under control. A senior citizen can even contribute towards this eco-friendly initiative by avoiding cars and preferring walking, emphasizing the need of recycling the need of e-waste.Think !! If we all do our part, we can surely make a difference- a better liveable, congenial space for ourselves and future generations.....

Global warming is the phenomenon of the increase in the temperature of the atmosphere due to the presence of excessive green house gases. Global warming will results in melting of the polar ice caps and raise in the ocean level which will submerge islands and coastal areas. It will cause extreme climatic changes. The fight against global warming is a herculean task. Each one of us is needed to save our earth. So we must join hands to reduce global warming. Some ways by which we can reduce global warming are:

By planting more trees and protecting our trees, forests and wildlife. This will reduce the amount of the harmful carbondioxide gas in the atmosphere and reduce global warming.

By stopping the use of plastic bags and other non-biodegradable plastic products.

By reducing the burning of fossil fuels like coal and petroleum products. The smoke emissions due to burning of fossil accelerate global warming and deplete the ozone layer which protects us from the harmful effects of the ultraviolet rays (UV rays) of the Sun.

By reducing the use of products like refrigerators and air conditioners which release CFC gas.

By gaining knowledge and using re-cycling method for proper waste management and reduction of pollution of land, water and air.

By proper treatment of industrial waste before they are dumped.

By shifting to renewable energy, electric, hydro and solar energy.

By reducing exhaust emissions from motor vehicles, power plants, factories and industries. The increasing pollutants in the air results in serious health problems. They also cause the corrosive acid rains.

By closing down industries and manufacturers which are blatantly polluting air and water by hazardous industrial emissions and dumping wastes in our water sources.
