Speech on motivating peers for celebrating eco-friendly Diwali:
Respected ‘Principal and Teachers’ and my ‘Dear Friends’
First of all I would like to thank all of you for having given this wonderful opportunity to speak to you all. With few days left for one of India’s most beautiful festivals, Diwali, I take this opportunity to speak on the importance of celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali.
Diwali is a major festival in India. It's time for us to celebrate it responsibly and with little environmental impact. Diwali's spirit of excitement and festival is unmixed. The eco-friendly Diwali shares its magic with friends and family. It's not all about stopping burning firecrackers to celebrate an environmentally friendly Diwali. In the name of Diwali, there are a lot of ways we produce waste. A festival also means that you have fun without destroying the environment. Increased social consciousness of our environment through legislation, social media and NGOs have inspired many people around the country to support environmentally friendly ways to celebrate the Diwali.
If you cannot keep away from bursting crackers to celebrate Diwali, it's best to stick to recycled paper made environmentally-friendly crackers. A lot depends on the mentality and attitude of people as well. Anyone can decide to light the earthen lamps, instead of electric lamps made from non-recyclable plastic that have high energy consumption costs. These can be recycled, these are economical and they give to the decorations a touch of natural beauty. It may be appealing and hassle-free to turn on lights. Instead of synthetic colours, which are widely available on the market, people should also use natural organic colours, flowers or cereal.
The festival can be enjoyed improved by taking precautionary steps to reduce crackers ' sound decibel, deter potassium chlorate goods, foster better decoration alternatives and increase e-crackers. Air pollution cannot be removed immediately with these steps the festival can be better enjoyed. Pollution from the atmosphere is not a problem that can be solved immediately with these steps. But in whatever form we go, it's time and right to step into environmentally friendly practices. The key words for better living today are recycling and renewability. Let us all try to take this Diwali into account and minimize efforts to damage our vulnerable environment further.
Happy Diwali, I mean eco-friendly Diwali to one and all!
Thank you!
