Gandhiji was, a social worker at heart. He was working in South Africa when he felt that he should return to India to work for his own nation’s freedom and welfare. An intense feeling of responsibility burning in him, Gandhiji requested his co-workers to relieve him of his duties in South Africa.  Although his co-workers could not happily let Gandhiji go, they had to. However, they laid out a humble condition – Gandhiji should return once his domestic crisis were solved, within a year. It was not an acceptable condition for Gandhiji yet he accepted the condition because he was bound to the people by true love for them.
