we all love our parents, but very often, we forget to tell them so. we also tend to take for granted their sacrifices, and their efforts to give us the best and to do what is best for us. so in 2012, the united nations established a new international day- the global day of parents. this day is to be observed every year on june 1st with the purpose of honouring parents throughout the world. the global day of parents gives people all over the world, the opportunity to appreciate parents and parental figures for the vital role they play in the development of families. community leaders, parents, children, teachers and family organizations get together in celebrating this day.

Family is the fundamental unit of a society and parents and children are the pillars of it. Parents are a child’s ideal. They play important role in the development of a child by directing them to become a mature and responsible citizen. They make their child led a comfortable life. Parents are a teacher, well-wisher, mentor, role-model and protector to their children. Hats off to their unconditional love and the hard work they employed to brought up their children and make them that able that they face in the crowd.

Their debt can’t be paid back. Yet the children celebrate Parents’ Day every year to honor their mom-dad for their care. Though Parents’ Day is not observed on the same day in every country, but majority of countries in the world including US celebrate it on fourth Sunday of July Other countries like Korea celebrates The Parents’ Day on May 8 every year, whereas Vietnam celebrates it on July 7.

Children buy gifts, greetings and flowers for their parents. A wide range of gifts are given which could be silk scarves, brooches, music system, watches, a cozy dinner for the two and so on. If one wants to be trendy, they can go for personalized gifts or craft the gift with his own hands. This will be the best gift for your parents.
