Speech on reality shows:

These days there is ‘a growing trend towards reality TV shows that are based on external shallow values. With the appeal of junk food, it has a powerful hypnotic effect even on the strongest minds. But while reality TV may seem like a harmless form of entertainment, the damage (which is done so subtly) is very powerful and therefore it deserves a closer look. So the question is ‘Do we really need another reality TV show or perhaps it’s time for a reality check?

Reality TV is not much different from normal programs, like any program, reality television has the essentials, it has a mix of characters, it puts those characters in situation, and the result is usually a failure or success. But the catch of reality television is that the characters are real people, the story is not scripted, and with any failure or successes comes emotion. But does this reality TV revolution present the viewers with real life? Or does it present what the TV producers want the viewers to see?

Reality TV is built on the foundations of exposing and exciting human emotions. In this aspect reality TV has successfully portrayed human emotions. The cameras have captured all features of being humans. For example, Survivor consists mainly of emotions associated with survival, leadership, the failure’ and success as co-operating as a team. The cameras have successfully conveyed to the audience all these emotions, and the stories connected with these emotions.

Good morning to all. Today I, XYZ have got a golden opportunity to express myself on the topic “Reality of Reality shows featuring children’. Nowadays our television screens are bombarded with numerous reality shows in which the participants are children. Shows like music and dance have gained much importance and fame in recent years. It is good that these provide a platform for children to showcase their talent But behind the cameras there are many things which affect the lives of these children.

At a tender age, they get an environment which is full of exposure, glamour and celebrities. Sometimes this kind of things change the attitude of children and they get mature early and get used to fashion fever, glamour and luxurious life. They leave their homes and schools for months for the sake of these reality shows and many times this hampers their academics. They ignore other aspects of their life and just stress to win the reality show. There is so much of burden on their tiny shoulders to win. Sometimes the over expectation of parents gets the child into pressure.
