Success comes to those who will and dare
Good morning everyone present. I am going to expatiate on ‘success comes to those who will and dare’. It is true without indomitable will and intrepid daring success is impossible. If you have a dream, and you fail to turn that dream into reality, you won’t know what success is. Success actually is the good power that can turn any dream into reality. The famous American statesman, Colin Powell says, “Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.”
All successes originate in mind. First of all it makes its presence felt in the form of a vision, idea, inspiration, or a dream. Turning the mental concept into tangible reality requires a long effort and perseverance. The entire course that leads to successful realization of one’s dream is ridden with obstacles, discouragements, failures, and setbacks. The person who wishes to be successful and is discouraged by failures can never ever taste the manna of success. The truth is our failures our stepping stones by whose medium we reach success.
All great personalities and personages, who have left indelible prints of their lives on the sands of eternity, are the men and women who converted their failures into success. The list is endless: Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, Socrates, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Charlie Chaplin, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Helen Keller, Booker T. Washington, Mahatma Gandhi, and so on.
All the above mentioned names share one common thing; they were not quitters; they were winners. They knew the secret to be successful. They faced myriads of obstacles and hindrances without compromising with their vision and mission. They were ready to face as many failures as were required in order to be successful.
Helen Keller realized success by perseverance. Booker T. Washington also faced innumerable challenges before getting the crown of success. All the great men of all the times and all the climes share common success stories. They dared; they continued chasing dreams until they become realities. So if you have any dream, continue chasing it with all your heart.
Good morning Respected teachers, judges and my dear friends , I am here to present my views on the topic "Will to Win".
This title brings to my mind the story of the hare and the tortoise. When the hare challenged the tortoise to a race , the tortoise knew very well that it's speed of travel was in no way comparable to that of the hare. Yet this animal agreed to race. And why , may I ask you ? Only because it had the "will to win". Come what may , the tortoise had to prove to the hare that it could win if it wanted to. And yes ! Finally the tortoise won.
This , in fact , is the driving force behind all great ventures and achievements , The Will to Win..! I remember the time when I was in Std. 5th , My father had been transferred from Agra to Bhusaval . A subject that I had trouble mastering was the language Marathi. Needless to say in the first term , I flunked very badly. But I was a student who scored high marks in all the subjects. This failure was though devastating one.
However , I did not let it faze me. I took great interest in class lessons. Read my Marathi textbooks over and over. I made my friends who spoke Marathi fluently and ventured speaking with them. At first , they poked me , made fun of me. But within a month , i had picked up the basic structure of the language and began writing answers to questions on my own. Believe it or not , At the end of the term , I topped the class in Marathi. Today , I can speak in the language as if it's my native language !!
Friends , My message to you today is that you can do anything . All you require is the will. If you have the will , the skill will follow. I wish you all the very best in whatever you decide.
Be sure that if you have the will , you will win!!
Thank you.
