Its difficult to decide.

What values could be taught?

There are diverse set of values, mindsets, cultures, acceptable and unacceptable behaviours depending on particular set of morals.

Ok, wait a minute, there is a way out, lets filter all and come down to basic-basic, that is the most common value amongst all races, a positive value.

Something which works across the board, yes, that could be taught or introduced to young minds.

What they carry from there, depends on how its applicable towards the future dimension of their existence and problems.

Too concentrated values, applicable to one set of people, could not be taught, it would only cause more value conflicts.

Lets come down to basic - basic, I guess there would be very very few of them but they would work or they wouldnt have survived across the board, across cultures, and across lives.

Only those could be called pearls of wisdom, lowest common factor, rest could be discarded with.Education gives you power. Value Education gives you ability to use power in proper way. Quality education is must for a person. The quality of education describes the quality of a person. Education is always valuable as it teach you respect, knowledge and creative framework for your future. Remember when we used to have periods of moral values/science classes in our schools and we usually hated them because they felt boring. It was not that too bad.
Moral values in today's arena is essentially important because moral has been lost at various parameters.
