When a person is standing there is more pressure as the area applying pressure is less and pressure is inversely proportional to area. Therefore the pressure increases with decrease in area.

The pressure on the ground is more when a person is standing.
As we know the pressure is equal to force divided by area.
P=F/A
Therefore, pressure is inversely proportional to area.
Hence if the area is less than the pressure would be more.
Therefore, pressure on the ground is more when a person is standing as the area is less.
