Let the speed of stream be y .
According to the problem :
x + y = 15 km/hr
Given speed of stream = 1.5 km/hr
= > y = 1/5 km/hr
So x + 1.5 km/hr = 15 km/hr
= > x = 15 km/hr - 1.5 km/hr
= > x = 13.5 km/hr
Speed of boatmen against stream = x - y
= > 13.5 - 1.5
= > 12
ANSWER :
12 km/hr
