Speed of light in water and in glass is 2.24 × 10^8 m/s and 2.0 × 10^8 m/s respectively. What is the refractive index of water with respect to glass?

Your answer is
R. I. of water/R.I. of glass
=> 2.24×10^8/2.0×10^8
=> 2.24/2 = 1.14 answer.

Refractive Index of Glass w.r.t(with respect to) Water= (Speed of light in Glass)/(Speed of light in Water)
=(2×10^8)/(2.24×10^8)= 2/2.24=200/224=100/112=25/28

For finding the refractive Index of Water w.r.t Glass, just take the inverse of the above answer,ie 1/(25/28)= 28/25
