Let radius of cylinder and cone be r and height be h.

volume of cylinder(v)=

\pi {r}^{2} h

volume of cone(a)=

 \frac{1}{3} \pi {r}^{2} h

ratio of their respective volumes are=

  \frac{v}{a}  =  \frac{\pi {r}^{2}h }{ \frac{1}{3}\pi {r}^{2} h }  =  \frac{1}{ \frac{1}{3} }  =  \frac{3}{1}

Therefore,

ratio=v:a=3:1
