Dividing the whole equation by 2 we get,
= x² - 82x + 1680 = 0
= x² - 40x - 42x + 1680 = 0
= x ( x - 40 ) - 42 ( x - 40 ) = 0
= ( x - 40 ) ( x - 42 ) = 0
=> x = 40 or 42.
