Explanation:

Food spoilage is the process of changing the physical and chemical properties of the food, making it unfit for consumption. Food spoilage is caused by living microorganisms and also by enzymatic action (autolysis). Spoilage can also be brought about by physical or chemical factors.

Chemical food spoilage is an unwanted quality change in a foodstuff, such as staling, discoloration, the development of off-flavours and odours (e.g. rancidity), and thinning of sauces. It can be caused, for example, by enzymic or microbial activity, oxidation or external tainting.

The spoiling of the food is a chemical reaction because once the the food is spoilt it cannot be bringed into it's original form. A chemical change is a change which cannot be bring into it's original form

it depends on the food. Unwashed fresh fruits and vegetables can sit on a counter for a day or so (something fragile like fresh berries) to a week or so (something tough like apples or cabbage).

If the room is very hot, things won't last as long; a cool room temperature will keep everything fresher.
