Stacy has twelve black socks and twelve white socks in her drawer. In complete darkness, and without looking, how many socks must she take from the drawer in order to be sure to get a pair that match?

When she will take out one pair

There fore probability will be 1/2 that there is half the chances that she will get either a black or white socks..

If she takes another, then there is again half the probability that she will either get a black or white. There fore there are three cases that she can get both of them black or both of them white..

Therefore to be sure she will take another sock out of her drawer therefore she might surely get a pair of black or white socks..
