Starting lines of speech to address teacher and students
Answers
Answer:
Listen up, fools… I’m about to lay down some knowledge in here.”
I’m kidding. Please don’t do that.
The best way to start a speech in front of teachers and students is to greet them, thank them for inviting you, and make it clear what you’re going to talk about with them. Like this:
Good afternoon*. Thank you for inviting me here today. I’m here to tell you about sonnets**
*or whatever part of the day it is at that moment.
**or whatever it is you’re talking to them about.
I’ve been on the receiving end of many speeches where, ten minutes into the speech, I still wasn’t entirely sure what they were talking about. It’s important that you say that clearly within the first minute of speaking, when you have peak attention from the audience.
In written form, that would be called your thesis statement.
