Explanation:

Avogadro's law states that under the same conditions of temperature and pressure , equal volumes of all gases contain the same number of molecules.

suppose we consider the reaction

N2+ 3H2---> 2NH3

if 1 litre of O2 gas contains N molecules ,,,

then by Avogadro's law

1 litre of H2 Contains N molecules of H2

1 litre of N2 Contains N Molecules of N2

What is Avogardo's law?

According to Avogardo's law, equal volumes of gases under conditions of constant temperature and pressure contains equal number of molecules.

According to Avogardo's Hypothesis-

  • Avogardo's number is the number of molecules present in 1 gram mole of a gas.
  • Value of Avogardo's number =6.023×10²³ per gram mole.
  • Under STP (temperature =273K and Pressure =1atm, 22.4L of each gas consists of 6.023×10²³ molecules.
  • 1 mole of a gas at STP occupies 22.4L of volume.
