Coal is nothing but a black shaped spherical ball But yeah millions and millions of years ago probably at the prehitoric age of dinosaurs...When dinosaurs and other Small or large animals died...they got degraded into tge soil as u know but this soil or mud year by year got formed a layer to layer and so on and after that they got compressed into rock,above tge rock containing the earlier invertebrate fossils.
Again millions.......of years later, the bodies of horse like creatures dying in the area are fossilised in rocks above those earlier rocks.
Much-----later, by erosion or water flow wears away some of the rock and exposes the horse structure and if we dig and dig deep under the soil we will get those fossils of dinosaurs of which some of them had slowly decayed into coal.
