The provincial government was the government which came into power after the abdication of Tsar of Russia Nicholas II. The three main actions taken by the Provincial government to crush influence of Bolsheviks are the following:

1.  It took hard measures to suppress the spreading discontent in the country.

2. The provincial government opposed the workers to work in factories and imprisoned the leaders.

3. This government sent troops to establish their control over telephone and telegraph offices.
