whenever we switch on any electrical appliance it becomes hot due to the heat produced by the heating effect of electric current. when work is done to overcome resistance it generates heat.
if Q is the charge
V is the potential difference
so.. work done=W = QV
but I(current) = Q/T=I×T
SO...W= VIT.....by replacing IT in the place of Q
also by ohms law
V=IR
SO...W=IR×IT=I^2RT
this work is converted into heat energy
i.e. H=I^2RT
