STATE AND EXPLAIN HOOKE'S LAW: -

Hooke's law states that provided the elastic limit of an elastic material is not exceeded the force on the wire is directly proportional to the extension of the wire and also in the direction of the applied force. Where F equals e and an elastic constant k . So the elastic constant is the force required to cause a unit extension. The extension e, of the wire explains strain of the wire where the force explains the stress. Automatically the ratio of the two gives young modulus. The elastic limit of an elastic material is the ability of an object to regain its original shape and size after the compressed force is removed.
