well the mughal empire downfall main reasons are lack of treasure foreign invasions....okay let me tell the main points
--treasure was completely drained cause of shah jahan. As he is just fond of constructions right..like taj mahal and sooo
--The foreigners were invaded and mughals couldn't stopped that...as their army and wealth strength was weak
----And many I mean most of mughal rulers died within a very short period of time very less life span
---Even the Rajputs had taken the advantage and they became independent
--Aurangzab's failed policies....
---continues wars for throne also lead to a big downfall for mughal empire ....i think soooo

well u can have any of these reasons
mostly continuous wars, lack of treasure and weak army are reasons..

Hope this would be helpful

Answer:

# The successive rulers after Aurangzeb were weak, unworthy and lacked the character, motivation and commitment to rule the empire strongly.

# Aurangzeb’s policies made enemies of the Rajputs, Sikhs, Jats and the Marathas.

# His frequent wars depleted the treasury.

# The raids by Nadir Shah, and repeated invasions of Ahmad Shah Abdali, resulted in further weakening of the empire.

# The already weakened empire faced further encroachment by the British and the French. The British and French, who had initially come as traders, took full advantage of the weakening empire and soon became masters of the whole of India.
