Gametogenesis:

1. It is the formation of haploid gametes.

2. It is of two types:

(a) spermatogenesis (formation of male gametes).

(b) Oogenesis (formation of female gametes).

3. Meiosis occurs during gametogenesis.

4. It leads to fertilization.

Embryogenesis:

1. It is the formation and development of a multicellular embryo from unicellular zygote.

2. It involves cell division to increase the number of cells, cell growth and cell differentiation (formation of different kinds of tissues).

3. Mitosis occurs during embryogenesis.

4. It leads to organogenesis (organ formation).
