Explanation:
The root is called the 'descending part' of the plant which generally 'penetrates' inside the soil and helps the plants in the functions of fixation and absorption. The root which grows from the 'radicle' is called primary root.
The primary root gives rise to lateral branches which are also known as secondary branches. Those then further become other type of branches called the tertiary branches. The primary root along its branches are called tap root system. The root branches arise from the 'inner layer'.
