1. Horizontal Power Sharing: 

This type of power-sharing takes place among different organs of government -Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary.This is known as the distribution of power, it allows different organs of government placed at the same level to exercise different powers. This has a benefit as  no  organ can exercise unlimited power as each organ checks the other

2. Vertical Level of Power Sharing:

In federal form of government, power is shared between the central and state governments. In India, there is another lower level of government -local self-government. Here the concept of subordination works.

3. Power sharing among Social Groups:

Different social groups such as religious and linguistic groups also get power sharing. In India there are constitutional and legal arrangements whereby socially weaker sections and women are represented in the legislatures and administration. They are allowed to share power and contribute

4. Power sharing between political parties and pressure groups:

Political parties contest elections to form govt to hold power. Pressure groups also influence govt on policy matters and different political, economic and social issues.
