Advantages of of cross pollination over self pollination:
- Cross pollination results in diversified species because the 'genetic information of different plants' are combined whereas self-pollination results in same offsprings
- Cross pollination produces healthier offspring than self-pollination
- Cross pollination produces the more variety in species. It produces the uniform species.
- The example of the plants which undergo cross pollination is apple, plums and pears.
- The example of the plants which undergoes the self-pollination is tomatoes, potatoes, apricots and peaches.
