Consumer courts is special purpose courts in India which gives its verdict for customers cheated by sellers or service providers. Features are:

▪ It was under COPRA, a three-tier quasi-judicial machinery at the district, state and national levels was set up for redressal of consumer disputes.

▪ It is set up to give some privilage to customers againist unethical trade practices.

▪ Filing a complaint with evidences is very convenient process. No complex proceedings as other courts.

▪ Approaching a consumer redressal court is extremly cheap and requires only nominal fee. You can even proceed withoit hiring a lawyer.
