Answer:

Antonio's friends Salerio and Solanio attempt to cheer him up by telling him that he is only worried about his ships returning safely to port. Antonio, however, denies that he is worried about his ships and remains depressed. Antonio's restless thoughts are used as a metaphor for the restless ocean.

Your mind is tossing on the ocean,

There, where your argosies with portly sail,

Like signors and rich burghers on the flood—

Or, as it were, the pageants of the sea—

Do overpeer the petty traffickers

That curtsy to them, do them reverence

As they fly by them with their woven wings.

.➣Salarino says that his ships filled with cargo move on the sea as wealthy and important citizens and the small ships bow before his ships when they move. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
