Refraction:
The phenomena of bending of light at the point of contact of an other surface is known as Refraction
E.g.,
When a spoon is dropped into a glass of water and when seen from side it looks magnified.
Laws of Refraction:
1. The incident ray,the normal and the refracted ray lie on the same plane
2. Ratio of the angles made by the incident ray and the refracted ray is equal to constant. This is also known as Snell's Law.
Total Internal Reflection:
When the angle of refraction is more than 90°,the light ray goes back to the first surface
The condition is ∅<90°.
This angle is also known as
Critical Angle
