Answer:

The first periodic table was created by Dmitri Mendeleev and later followed by Mayer. Mendeleev and Mayer developed the periodic law independently in 1869. According to Mendeleev’s periodic law when elements are arranged in their atomic mass, certain properties reoccur periodically.

According to the Modern periodic law, the properties of the elements are repeated at a particular regular intervals when these elements are arranged in the increasing order of their atomic numbers. The similarity in outer shell electronic configuration results periodical occurrence of their properties.

Answer:

  • Mendeleev’s Approach for periodic law

Chemical properties and Physical properties of the elements are the periodic functions of the atomic mass of the corresponding elements.

  • Modern approach for the periodic law

Chemical properties and Physical properties of the elements are the periodic functions of the atomic numbers of the corresponding elements.
