according to Newlands law of octaves on arranging the elements in increasing order of atomic masses he found that the eighth element had properties similar to that of the first element. but the disadvantage was to that to accommodate elements he put in two unlikely elements in the same place and
this law was only applicable to light elements

Newlands law of octaves stated that ,when elements were arranged in horizontal rows in order of their increasing relative atomic masses,the properties of every eighth element were similar to the first one just as the eighth note of a musical scale.
