NLM ( 1 ) :- according to Newton's first law of motion everybody wants to maintain its position either in rest or in motion whenever external force is not applied to it.

according to first law of motion in simple way
body change its configuration or position when we apply external force.
otherwise it will remain constant.

Newton's first law of motion describes the law of inertia (the tendency to maintain the motion, may be at rest or in motion).

A body at rest will remain at rest and a body in motion will continue to be in motion unless any external force is acted on the body.

Example: When suddenly brakes are applied while travelling in a car, the person moves forward. This is because of the inertia.
