Clinical thermometer is used to measure body temperature howeverlaboratory thermometer is not usedfor the purpose of measuring body temperature. The temperature range of clinical thermometers is 35°C-42°C and that of laboratory thermometers is -10°C-110°C. The least count of both the thermometers is different.

Similarities:

(i) Working principal of both the thermometer is same .

(ii) The bulbs of the thermometer have Mercury in them.

Difference:

(i) The temperature range of clinical thermometer is from 35°c to 42°c while that of laboratory thermometer is from -10°c to 110°c.

(ii) Clinical thermometer is used to measure the temperature of a human body.

(iii) The least count of both the thermometer cannot be tilted, laboratory thermometer is kept upright while reading the temperature values.
