If the egg is not fertilised, it lives for about one day. Since the thickened uterus lining is no more required, it will slowly break down and comes out through the vagina as blood and mucous known as menstruation.
In humans, implantationis the stage ofpregnancyat which the already fertilized egg adheres to the wall of theuterus. At this stage ofprenatal development, the conceptus is a blastocyst. It is by this adhesion that the fetus receives oxygen and nutrients from the mother tobe able to grow. Hope it helps

Explanation:

a) Changes in uterus when implantation occurred: Uterus prepares itself to nurture growing embryo. Its lining thickens. It is richly supplied with blood to no wish growing embryo.

(b) If ovum does not get fertilised: Then the thick and soft inner lining of uterus is no longer required; so it breaks. This inner lining of uterus along with blood vessels and dead ovum/egg comes out of vagina in the form of bleeding. It is called menstruation menstrual cycle in female.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU.
