1. the new bonds which are made should be more stable than the previous ones .

2. energy should be released cause stability is inversely related to energy so those compounds which have less energy are more stable . Though there can be exceptions like endothermic reactions

3. In chemistry or we can say in general every thing tends to loose energy to become stable . So that is what happens with the substance undergoing a reaction
