Motion of the center of mass of an object from one position to another. Pure translational motion involves the displacement of the center of mass of the object during the motion. Pure rotational motion involves no such displacement of the center of mass.

Rotational Motion:

Also will limit ourselves to rotational motion about a fixed axis, i.e. the axis is not moving.
