State the congruent rule by which triangle ABC and triangle ACD are congruent.....

in ∆ABC and ∆ACD,
AD = AD = side (common)
BD = DC = side (given)
angle ADC = angle BDA (each 90°)
therefore ∆ABC is congruent to ∆ACD by SAS congruence.

BD = DC ( given )
<ADB = <ADC ( each 90° )
AD = AD ( common )

⏩So by SAS congruency
Triangle ABD =~ ACD
