The best way to learn the sequence is:-
VIBGYOR
V - Violet
I - Indigo
B - Blue
G - Green
Y - Yellow
O - Orange
R - Red
One more thing when the spectrum is formed by the prism violet bends more and red bends least.
The wavelength of radiation to which our eyes are sensitive is between 400 nm to 700 nm.
The red light has maximum wavelength that is close to 700 nm and the voilet has smallest wavelength that is close to 400 nm that's why Red Bends least while violet bends more.
