Crop plants are being altered here, through the means of, insertion of genes from other sources to enhance the productivity and its overall usefulness directly impacting the economy of its country and the outcome itself. The gene transferred to another organism artificially by technique of genetic engineering is called as transgene. The cereal plants with high yield can avail better amounts of nutritional value, viral resistance, herbicide resistent(herbicide tolerant), high yielding and insect resistance are some more desirable traits for cereal plants.
