Some points on rods are as follows:-

1. It can't mediate color.

2. In retina it is found on peripheral side.

3. Rhodopsin pigment is found in this.

4. High amount of Vitamin A is found in rhodopsin.

5. Working of rods is mainly responsible for night propose.

Answer:

Rods are responsible for low light levels (scotopic vision).

They do not mediate colour vision, and have low spatial acuity.

Cones are active at higher light levels (photopic vision) are capable for colour vision and are responsible for high spatial acuity.
