State the difference between umbra and penumbra?

Sun is the only one natural source of light that is it is luminous object. whereas moon and earth are non luminous objects which reflect the sun's light.
during eclipse, earth or moon cast shadow.
There are two parts of these shadows; Umbra and penumbra
Umbra: is the central part of shadow or we can say the darkest part of the shadow,[light will be completely obstructed]
Penumbra: It is the less dark part of the shadow[light is partially obstructed]
