( A ) Acute Disease
- Such disease which occurs suddenly and last for a short period is called as acute disease.
- It lasts for a short time, usually few days to the week.
- Example:Cold, burn, breaking of bone, typhoid, jaundice, cholera, burn, strep throat, etc.
Chronic Disease
- Such disease which shows it's prolonged effects on human health. The condition is said to be chronic when the disease lasts for more than three months. Such disease can be life-threatening and majorly affect the immune system of the body and thus declines the health.
- It lasts for longer or lifetime also.
- Example:Diabetes, arthritis, cancer, tuberculosis, heart disease, asthma attack, osteoporosis, etc.
( B ) Communicable Diseases
- Communicable diseases are those disease which spread from one person to another, through the wind, water or direct or indirect mode and are highly infectious.
- Treated by conventional methods.
- Examples of communicable disease are cold, flu, typhoid, AIDS, dysentery
Non-communicable diseases
- Non-communicable diseases are those, which are not spread and are non-contagious, but are caused due to allergy, long illness, abnormalities in cell proliferation, inherited, malnutrition.
- Treated conservatively or surgically.
- Examples of Non-communicable disease. -cancer, allergies, diabetes, strokes.
