State the effect of increase in frequency on resonating length of air column?

The natural frequency is inversely proportional to length of the air column but only in case of closed air column. This will lead to change the natural frequency when we change length of air column, and it continue changing process till the moment it becomes equal to the frequency of the external periodic force. This change will affect the resonance, as louder sound is heard.
