Air pollution is caused when harmful gases and toxins enters the atmosphere and mixes with the gases present to form more toxic gases.

It causes acidification with sulphuric acid mixing with rain droplets to form acid rain which kills plants, changes the chemical properties of soil and poses as health hazards to animals and humans.

CFCs have caused ozone depletion which lets harmful UV radiation to reach earth’s surface.

Smog is another example of air pollution which can cause pneumonia or lung cancer.
