State the expression for lateral magniification of a concave in te terms of object distance and image distance.(mirror/len is not given.)
Also what do ou mean by lateral magnification?​

ANSWER

Magnification can be understood in such a way that negative sign(of m) indicates inverted image & vice-versa.

We know that A real image is always inverted one & a virtual one is always erect.

Thus, the real object and its real image would lie on the same sides in case of mirror & on opposite sides in cases of lenses, we define m as in case of reflection by spherical mirror as :

 =  > m =  \frac{ - v}{u}
