It state that if any body is in motion then it will remain in motion until any external force applied to it or if any body is in rest then it will remain in rest.
Inertia =>a tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged.
When the bus is in motion then luggage is also in motion but when we apply breaks the bus stops but luggages are still in motion that way to never let the luggage down we tie it

it states that a body remains at rest or in uniform motion unless it compelled to change that state by applying some external force.
this means that a body will continue to remain at rest or in uniform motion unless its disturbed by some force .
inertia, the property of a body to oppose the change in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line .
when the bus accelerates after rest the luggage move backwards due to inertia of rest and when the moving bus stops ,the luggage move forward due to inertia of motion .due to this to and fro motion it may fall down .henca advised to tie it with a rope.
