There are three major types of blood vessels: the arteries, which carry the blood away from the heart; the capillaries, which enable the actual exchange of water and chemicals between the blood and the tissues; and the veins, which carry blood from the capillaries back toward the heart.

The three types of blood vessels are :

Arteries - It carries blood away from heart and transport it to the whole parts of the body .

Capillaries - They are very thin blood vessels . It delivers nutrients and oxygen to tissues and remove by products of cellular reaction , such as carbon dioxide .

Veins - They are responsible from returning of deoxygenated blood back to the heart .They have much thinner walls than arteries .
