heya mate here is your answer ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

The epithelial cells are nourished by substances diffusing from blood vessels in the underlying connective tissue. One side of the epithelial cell is oriented towards the surface of the tissue, bodycavity, or external environment and the other surface is joined to a basement membrane.
functions⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Functions of epithelial cells include secretion, selective absorption, protection, transcellular transport, and sensing. Epithelial layers contain no blood vessels, so they must receive nourishment via diffusion of substances from the underlying connective tissue, through the basement membrane.

Hi. Mate here is your answer
epithelial \: tissue
These occurs as one or more layers of cells upon all external and internal exposed surfaces of the body and various organs forming protective covering.

the \: term \: epithelium \: was \: \\ introduced \: by \: duch \: anatomist \: \\ ruysch.
Epithelial tissue consists of variously shaped cells closely placed with a very little of cementing material formed of glycoprotein secreted by cells.

CHARACTERISTICS :
(1)This tissue is originated from ectoderm, endoderm & mesoderm.
(2)It produces internal and external covering of body organ.
(3) They are closely packed. Therefore, they doesn't have intracellular space.
(4) The cells are avascular, they have lack or devoid of blood vessel.
(5) They have capacity to regenerate and repair.
(6) The cells of this tissue are arranged in single layer or multi layers.

FUNCTION :
They perform different functions like protection, absorption, secretion, exchange of gases, etc.

ORIGIN OF VARIOUS EPITHELIAL TISSUES :
(1) FROM ECTODERM :
Epidermis of skin, epithelial lining of mouth, nose and anus, hair, nails &
oil, mammary glands, sweat and salivary glands, test buds, enamel of tooth, adrenal medical, etc.

(2)FROM MESODERM :
Endothelium, mesothelium and mesenchymal epithelium, adrenal cortex, certain parts of the urinogenital tract, etc.

(3)FROM ENDODERM :
Epithelium of digestive tract from pharynx downward, epithelium of respiratory tract from larynx downward, inner lining of the urinary bladder, inner of the deep vagina, cells of thyroid and parathyroid glands, etc.
