Flora and Fauna together constitute the ecosystem. If the flora and fauna are lost at an alarming rate, there will be a time when there would be no ecosystem. If there will be no flora and fauna then the ecological balance would be disturbed resulting in floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc., due to one reason or the other.
