Nuclear energy is a clean energy to a certain extend. Except for nuclear waste generated it is very clean in all other aspects like water and air pollution. Nuclear waste at present is well controlled. With the ever increasing demand fr power due to the affluence of the general population there does not seem to have any other alternate power source. The absolute clean energy like wind and solar are still not developed enough to harness the entire energy available and hence it looks like a decade to go before a sizable amount of energy cn be harness through these sources.
So what is left is nuclear. If tough safely regulations are in place and well trained personnel are employed then is truly a god given gift to solve our present day energy crisis without polluting the atmosphere.
