Hey there!!

There is one cause on why friction occurs : ↓↓

Friction is a force which opposes the movement of an object, friction is caused when two objects slide each other. This friction is caused due to the small ridges and grooves present on everything, these small ridges are invisible to the naked eye. As they are present on everything, when two objects slide each other, these ridges get interlocked, causing to slow down the motion. This,we call it as friction.

Hope my answer helps!

The resistance offered by a surface to another surface when they are moving one over other is known as friction. We can find friction everywhere. The force acts in opposite directions which results in friction. Cause of friction are the resistive adhesive forces that work on the uneven surfaces. Adhesion is the molecular force of attraction between two types of material.
